I just switched char and poof....it showed "heRO.exe has stopped working."
Patcher says no new updates. Everything was running fine then it just happened suddenly.
Anyone experienced/knows how to fix this?
No idea, but i got the same problem when trying to log in.

Now always and I can't log in.
At work so can't troubleshoot directly, but I can post generic advice.
When you launch the game from a new instance of hero.exe, is this before or after character selection?
If you can reach the character selection screen, try to get on a char who you know is most likely in an isolated spot, away from other characters. If this worked, then sprite related issue at your login spot by someone else is most likely the cause.
If the client crashes when you are scrolling to a specific page of chars, then one of the 3 characters on that page may have problems, somehow.
If your client crashes before you see char select screen, try going to the neoncube.ini and lower the number by 1. It should trigger a patch update. See if that helps.
Checking remotely, login server, map server and char server for heRO are up so server seems to be fine?
For me it happens when you enter your account name and password and press enter. I dont even see the character select screen. It crashes between those two things.
yes, it seems fine looking at the server status... but only getting
'Failed to Connect to Server' when trying to log any account

Did this and it did trigger a patch update. No dice. Still stops working after entering account.

Everything is fine, yeah.
You might experiencing sprite crashes because the equipment on your char, try rushing the enter button before the character select/quickly select char.

Yep happening to me now. Client was working just fine this morning and then all of a sudden getting this error too. Tried on my laptop and PC both not working.
Tried on all my accounts too so I doubt it's a sprite error.
My guess is GM's did a hotfix or added something server-side without having us update our clients which is resulting in the crash.
