I'd check what your AI is set to. In the client's supplied AI:

Attack: Aggressively attack x mob
Avoid: No touchy even if owner attacks
React: Attack if Owner attacks (Default)
Coward: Avoid if attacked by X mob.

in both modes... even when I click homu to attack, for instance, LIF, it would not hit him unless the LIF is moving from one cell to another...

After mulling about this for a bit in the back of my mind, I think I know why your AI isn't working.

Check to see if the monster you are trying to attack isn't already listed in the AI.

If the monster is listed twice, the AI will not function as intended.

it is, I even have it on attack first.
another monster is listed as coward.
/hoai is activated... and yet my homu attacks the monster that he isn't supposed to...

Did you relog or resummon your homun after the change? (I found that coward works badly in my own experience with my filir)

I have my AI set at neko island, for example, for my homun to attack nekos as priority, but to attack everything else with me. Works fine here.

I also think Avoid works fine, based off of what I've seen in WoE.

I'd check how Coward works, but uh, my creator doesnt have a homun in her build right now. It might be the homun attacks once, then runs with X mob chasing it. I don't know for certain.

your AI is meant to be in AI_sakray. If you use mirAI and its on that folder then there should be no errors.
instead of coward/avoid use react, from what I found out coward mode makes your homun act cowardly if the monster is on the screen.

if everything is fine I'd recommend to send the files to a GM to look for the problem.
