    Bug Fixes
  • Costume Telling Doll Hat no longer causes crashing. The item must be unequipped and re-equipped for it to show the proper sprite, so if you still crash and cannot take it off, please contact a GM for assistance.
  • The following costumes now go in the upper headgear slot as intended: Costume Bone Head, Costume Glaris Doll, Costume Telling Doll, Costume Piamette's Brown Ears.
  • Fixed some incorrect headgear looks (what hats look like on your char when equipped).

Item Rebalances of October 2020

Bloody Cross[3]
  • ATK increased by 20
  • Weapon level increased from 3 to 4
  • New Effect: +3 STR
  • New Effect: Add a 5% chance to cause the Curse status or Blind status when using Sanctuary or Magnus Exorcimus.
  • Source change: Agav 0.45% => 0.6%
  • New Source: Skeleton Prisoner 0.15%
Rationale: General improvement for both battle priest and ME builds for new weapon options

Blessed Holy Robe[1] => Runic Clothes[1]
  • Equippable classes: Priest/Monk => All Classes
  • Removed Effect: 80% resistance to blind
  • New Effect: [Base Strength > 50] INT + 3
  • New Effect: [Base Intelligence > 50] STR + 3
  • Source change: Eralia 15% => 3%
  • New Source: Seeker 0.3%, Beholder 0.15%
Rationale: old item is completely unusable, so it has been turned into a new item to support hybrid builds. All existing version of this item will automatically upgrade to this new item.

Dazzling Flame[2]
  • ATK 80 => 120
  • Improved Effect: 5% chance to inflict Stun status with Demonstration => For each refine of this weapon, add a 1% chance to inflict the Stun status when attacking with Demonstration.
Rationale: At safe refine, the effect is the same. The stun rate increases to reward bonus refine.

Two Handed Chrome Sword[1]
  • Improved Effect: max HP + 5% => 10%
  • Improved Effect: Reduce SP cost by 5% => 15%
  • Flavor text now emphasizes its light weight of 40
Rationale: this weapon needs a way to standout besides rushing for more slots or better base attack power, so instead, its current effect is buffed.

Chrome Sword[1]
  • Improved Effect: max HP + 3% => 6%
  • Improved Effect: Reduce SP cost by 3% => 10%
  • Weight: 40 => 20
  • Flavor text now emphasizes its light weight of 20
Rationale: this weapon needs a way to standout besides rushing for more slots or better base attack power, so instead, its current effect is buffed.

Agent Katar[1]
  • Removed Effect: no longer grants bonus ATK or aftercast delay bonus
  • New Effect: [Base Intelligence >= 80] Deal more Damage depending on the target's Defense.
Rationale: soul breaker is often stuck in usage due to lack of ice pick. We'll alleviate this major roadblock by providing a unique ice pick for soul breaker builds, while still being inferior to using the real ice pick.

Book of Psyche[2]
  • Improved Effect: no longer requires 50 base strength to deal more Physical Damage depending on the target's Defense.
Rationale: we were overly conservative to gatekeep the ice pick effect behind 50 strength

Cronache Stella[2]
  • ATK 105 => 120
  • Required level 90 => 70
  • Improved Effect: 1% chance to trigger heal effect => for every refine rate of this weapon, 0.3% chance to trigger heal effect
Rationale: rewards higher refine for the weapon, and also boost its attack so that it is not so easily outclassed by slotted elemental books

Mental Destroyer[2]
  • New Effect: For each refine rate of this weapon, increase the damage of Magic Crasher by 6%.
  • Improved Effect: if refine rate is at 7 or higher, destroy 2% of the targets SP with physical attack => if refine rate is at 7 or higher, destroy 3% of the targets SP with physical attack
Rationale: if Bowling Bash can get a 50% boost via a weapon, then we don't think Magic Crasher will warp the metagame at 42% boost for +7 of this weapon

Black Wing[1]
  • Complete new effect: Hit + 10
  • Complete new effect:For each level of Intimidate mastered beyond level 1, grant Perfect Dodge + 3.
  • Complete new effect:For each refine rate of this weapon, grant Perfect Dodge + 2.
  • Complete new combo effect: [+Black Cat] Hit + 15. Reduce SP Cost of all skills by 5%.
Rationale: old Black Wing gives matk yet also boosts accuracy, along with boosting damage of a skill that's never used for damage. We refined this weapon to focus on the moments where a rogue will want to use Intimidate: which is to survive.

Black Cat[0]
  • Equippable Class: Stalker => Rogue
Rationale: no reason not to allow this item to be used earlier

Cold Heart[0]
  • Equippable Class: Assassin Cross=> Assassin
Rationale: no reason not to allow this item to be used earlier

Aztoe Nail[1]
  • Improved Effect: Freeze status => Frost status
  • Improved Effect: the bonus at refine 7 or higher improves from additional 0.5% per refine to inflict status (for a total of 2.5% per refine) to 1% per refine to inflict status (for a total of 3% per refine)
Rationale: a rare weapon like this should not be worse than a Marina main gauche

Scarletto Naill[1]
  • Improved Effect: chance to inflict stone curse per weapon refine improved from 0.04% to 0.5%
Rationale: If Earthern Bow has a 10% chance to inflict stone curse, then this dagger can be closer to that number

Elven Arrow
  • New Effect: increase the damage of Blitz Beat and Falcon Assault by 5%
Rationale: new effect needed for technical reasons: the old effect did not play well with a backend code clean up

Elven Bow/Elven Arrow combo
  • Improved Effect: increase chance of autocasting Blitz Beat by 1% for every 2 refine => for each refine of this weapon, increase chance of autocasting Blitz Beat by 0.5%
  • New Effect: 1% chance to autocast Falcon Assault => 5%
Rationale: compensation for Elven Arrow unintended nerf

Ignus Steel[1]
  • New Effect: Add a 5% chance to inflict Burning status on the enemy when using Mammonite
  • New Effect: Fire Attribute Attack always inflict Burning status on the enemy
Rationale: small improvement to the weapon with new status effects

End Sectora[1]
  • New Effect: Add a 5% chance to inflict Frost status on the enemy when using Mammonite
  • New Effect: Water Attribute Attack always inflict Frost status on the enemy
Rationale: small improvement to the weapon with new status effects

Dreamstone Axe[1]
  • Improved Effect: 2% chance to cast Energy Drain/Vampire's Gift => 5% chance
  • New Effect: Mammonite may also trigger Energy Drain or Vampire's Gift at 5% chance
Rationale: improving the autocast rate to the standard 5% for melee physical attacks

Matyr's Leash
  • Equippable Class: Every Job except Novice => Every Job
  • New Effect: Meat recovery +25%
Rationale: changing this newbie gear to be slightly more useful as a beginner gear

Celebrant's Mitten
  • Equippable Class: Every Job except Novice => Every Job
  • New Effect: Skill casting can not be interrupted. Increase Casting Time by 35%.
Rationale: changing this newbie gear to be slightly more useful as a beginner gear

Shooting Star[2]
  • Improved Effect: Allows usage of Double Attack with a Bow weapon at a level equal to the user's mastery of the skill.
Rationale: changing this newbie gear to be slightly more useful as a beginner gear

Ur's Manteau[1]
  • Def: 2 => 4
  • Improved Effect: each refine of this gear reduce damage taken by 3 => 4
  • Improved Effect: reduce all damage (except neutral) by 2% => 1% per refine of this gear
Rationale: give more incentive to refine this gear

Grief for Greed[0]
  • Slot: unslotted => slotted
  • Removed Effect: INT + 1
  • New Effect: STR + 1
  • New Effect: Enables use of Level 1 Unfair Trick, or increase the mastery level of Unfair Trick by 1.
Rationale: changes the headgear from a very outclassed headgear to one with a niche to reduce the cost of merchant skills

Fashionable Hip Sack[1]
  • New Effect: Enables use of Level 1 Unfair Trick, or increase the mastery level of Unfair Trick by 1.
Rationale: adds more niche usage for merchants and ninja to reduce the zeny cost of their skills

Item Bugfix
  • Gust Bow's 40 int bonus effect now works properly
  • Black Wing Manteau activation rate should now work properly (was previously lower than intended by a decimal point, oops)
  • Fixed a loophole where you can wear 2 Elemental Ring[1]s which is not intended
  • Fixed a dumb but theoretically possible edge case where your auto-blitz rate is in the negatives via the stat resetter

Item Quality of Life
  • Black Wing hunter equip set and Elven Bow/Arrow should now display your total chances to autocast Blitz Beat via the equipment in the chatbox

  • Skeleton Prisoner now drops Bloody Cross at 0.15%

    Quality of Life
  • The Glast Heim save girl is now located at the very entrance of Glast Heim
  • The Warpers now send you outside Glast Heim church instead of inside
  • The Super Novice Job Change quest can now be started at Base Level 15.
  • Picking leaves from Lutia's Hreinsun Gras takes 1 second instead of 3.
  • Hriensun Gras now has a faster regeneration rate.

  • Players with names longer than 19 characters will be automatically muted and jailed upon logging in to prevent accidental crashing. To be allowed to use your character again you must submit a support ticket to receive a GM Service Ticket for a name change (not any other service).

  • Bio Lab Item Traders can now properly tell if you have Ghost Chills in your inventory.
  • Castle Rotation issue which force-strips players when entering castle has been fixed again. For future GM technical reference, it doesn't always happen on rotations, but when it does, it can be fixed by a full server maintenance (Login, Char and Map servers).

    Maintenance Changelog
  • Attempted to fix the hero's journey issue where Tiamat does not recognize you changed jobs. If you were already at a nearby step in the quest before this maintenance, you might still encounter the issue so let us know if you require GM assistance.
  • Prepared some maps for boss rush. Remember to patch before participating in the event.
  • The V4P Shop bug that happens on every maintenance/month seems to be fixed now. Rejoice!

    Maintenance Changelog

    Updates
  • Rates have gone down from 7/7/5 to 6/6/4 until 2021. Stay safe and enjoy the Quarantine rates!
  • The Hero's Journey and Halloween Quests have been removed.
  • Masterdrops no longer spawn in town.
  • Pumpkinrings no longer spawn in Niflheim town.

    Monster Changes
  • Tengu no longer drops 3 of the same Huuma Shurikens: it only drops Huuma Shuriken Spinning Wheel[4] at 0.9%
  • Red Eruma no longer drops Coral Reef
  • Red Eruma now drops Huuma Shuriken Spinning Wheel[4] at 0.3%
  • Nightbloom's Huuma Swirling Petal[2] drop rate increased from 0.75% to 1.5%
  • Wooden Golem now drops Huuma Swirling petal[2] at 0.3%


    New Mechanics
  • It is now possible to trigger Critical attacks, even if you learned Double Attack. Previously, some skill builds purposely do not learn Double Attack so that an activation of Double Attack will not "override" the possible chance of a Critical Attack. It has been changed such that the game will check for a Critical Attack first before checking for Double Attack activation. However, you still can't trigger a Double Attack and have both attacks be a critical hit for now. We'll work on this whenever we get to the assassin/rogue skill update.
  • Monsters that use Elemental Attribute Change no longer does a random level in their new element. It is now a fixed level that corresponds to the level of the skill casted. For now, all monsters that use elemental attribute change, will change to level 1 of that element, but we may change specific monsters' level of Elemental Attribute Change in the future.

    Quality of Life
  • @ Commands such as @whodrops and @mi will now return 10 entries instead of 5
  • Lutia, Faeheim, Caerulia, Midcamp, Splendide, Manuk, Prontera and Archer Village tool dealers now sell Small Acid Flasks and Small Flammable Flasks. These are new items used for demonstration and acid terror (NOT usable with Acid Demonstration, the Creator skill)
  • The above tool dealers now also sell all ASPD Potions (Including Berserk), Pet Food, Incubator, and Blue Gemstones.

    New Item
  • Light Green Potion can now be brewed in Faeheim, at the cost of 2x Green Herbs, 1 Empty Potion Bottle, 60% base success rate and 800z (same rate as Light White Potion)
  • Sharp Arrow Quiver does exactly what it sounds like: however for now they are unobtainable aside from Random Quiver drop. They will be added to the Quiver shop on the general QoL Shop Interface update, expected in late Nov/early Dec.

    Item Rebalances (unrelated to Alchemists/Ninjas)
  • Random Quiver can now generate "Sharp Arrow Quiver"
  • Haircut Coupon weight is now 0
  • Rococo Mask has a new effect: now it has no level requirement, and has a scaling chance to create Union of Tribe based on monster levels


    Bug Fixes
  • Muspel Monday Announcements happen a few seconds after :00 to prevent clashing with BG broadasts. The area still opens and closes at their usual times, however.
  • Halloween Succubus Eggs are discontinued. To receive a replacement (Banshee Master), please consume the item like you would any potion or old blue box, etc.
  • Banshee's chance of using NPC_EMOTION to go idle is now 2% chance rather than 10%.
  • Venatu's chance of using NPC_EMOTION to go idle is now 2% chance rather than 1%. It should be noted that all official mobs do so at 2% rate with some custom mobs following that trend. These two were the exception.
  • Costume Zodiac Sword no longer has any hidden level 20 requirement
  • Survivor's Manteau combo now properly gives Neutral resistance according to the refine rate of the garment instead of the weapon
