Hairstylist's Opinion Wanted
If anyone has any experience in hairstyling and image makeover, please send a pm because he is looking to learn how to speak the lingo next time he goes to the stylist.
In layman's terms he wants the right hairstyle for someone with a squarish-rectangular face, one that makes him look more masculine, keeping in mind that he has broad shoulders and a wide smile.
Looking for a cut that accents the ears and brings attention to the eyes.
He has a broad forehead and would like bangs that are well defined but not obtrusive. He is thinking of cutting the sides very short with clippers to reduce the appearance of width around his face, is this a good idea or a bad idea?
With the back he wants a gradual lengthening from the nape to the back of the crown, and wants this to sit flat and professional. He wants layering so that one day he can style it messy, on another day style it straight and sharply combed; furthermore, layering should hide any drastic transitions between hair length.
FYI, He is currently looking at head shots of Hugh Laurie and David Bowie for reference / inspiration.
Please leave general input here in the reply fields. Otherwise, professional opinions - including translation of the above into a hairstyle or clear instructions for a hairstylist - and, if necessary, requests for photos of hair "before" shots should be submitted by pm-ing me.
