Not "more" sought after. Angeling backpack can be used for the much wider range of shadow property monsters, especially the pile of shadow mvps vs only skeggs, valk, and man-valk incarnation for deviling.

So they are about equal. ;p

i understand what you're getting at, but for said high tier shadow mvps (from lowest hp: incan, doppel, dracula, pharaoh, LOD, bapho, detale and so on), one would probably be farming them with AD or asura in which incubus or porcellio carded wings would fare better than the backpacks. If atroce was still soloable by hunters it would be a different ballgame, so the only possible exception would be kiel... but again i've seen more champs doing kiel solo than hunting them with snipers...

as for boss monsters, most dark boss monsters (hydro, incarnations, doomed swords) are much more easily farmable by asura than snipers, so again incu/pork wings fare better....

minivalks and skeggs on the other hand, are quite efficiently farmable by snipers both solo or with a priest... plus farming skeggs on a hunter/sniper is far easier to do than the aforementioned bosses and mvps...

Eh, I pull off higher damage using the angeling backpack than with incu wings on my champ.

And I also pull off higher damage using porc wings than deviling backpack on sniper @ odins.

I don't know where you're getting your information, but the things you're saying here are pretty inaccurate.

guess i portrayed my other calculations based on not-so-great gears then that incu/porc seems to give more than 5%.

basically (mutatis mutandis)
if (25 ATK) < (5% of your ATK)
or if (150 SP - 3 INT) < (5% of your max SP pool)
then you probably have more than ~3000 SP or 500 ATK which makes the backpack better than incu/porc wings
in that case, Mea culpa

but yeah angelings are nicer in general because most low-level mobs since demon/dark seem to be the most populated classification there is in RO. And the most easily attainable substitute would probably be +5 ATK lower headgears (which is easily/more often than not < 5% of your ATK). However some wings do have unique effects that would be a better alternative altogether than the backpacks (TOH 5 wings for example)...
