You freaking physicists make me sick.??It's not i, because that's already the symbol for electrical current.??The base of imaginary numbers is j, get it through your head!
KissyLoveNo1

Yep, in school i was taught that j is the base of imaginary numbers, and that people who thought i was were stupid.

BTW

Biquaternion FTW

Ok, all I want to say to this is that light never truly runs in a straight path. If you look up some of Einstein's theories you'll find that the fasted way, for light, to travel from point A to B is in an eliptical. Light bends, even in a vacuum, due to gravity, as well as a physical substance such as glass or water.

I talked to another friend who agrees that Dark doesn't move. Darkness is the constant, and the constant can't move. Light just cover's that constant up, and therefor can be measured. Does darkness have a speed? I don't think it does.

I'm actually an English major who just happens to enjoy physics. However, as a linguistics/literature major, I find it entertaining that there would be an argument about the meaning of a symbol (i / j) which is only serving to represent an "imaginary" number (which is, in and of itself, another symbol to represent an abstract concept).

RE: How fast is the speed of dark?

I thought of the "You can divide by zero." when I read this strange question.

If it's 0 degrees F outside, and it's suppose to be twice as cold tomorrow, what will the temperature be? (Meaning it'll be half the temperature it was, but you can't divide by 0... or can you.)

It was a rhetorical question, but I wanted to answer it anyways. Since in math, you can't divide by 0, but since it's in degrees, or ? for people who like ALT codes, you can. Due to the fact that there's more than 1 way to tell the ? of something.

0? F = -17.7? C
-17.7? C * 2 = -35.4? C
-35.4? C = -31.72? F

So, half of 0? F is -31.72? F.

Except there's another way to do that.

0? F = 255? K
255 * 2 = 510
510? K = 458? F

RE: How fast is the speed of dark?

Flossy, not everyone knows that. Not everyone is an intelligent human being. Not all intelligent human beings know that. I stumped my physics, chemistry, math, and computer teacher with that question. I even asked them what half of 0? F was, and they still didn't get it, then I explained to them, and whomever was in the classroom at the time, how to figure it out. This is what I do in my TA classes.

Thats what I said.

Straight line or eliptical have nothing to do here because the pattern of the fastest way is not the same in every situation.
The fastest way is the way by wich Speed*ResistenceFromLightBeingSlowedByMatter*DistenceTheLightHaveToGoTrough ThatMatter Versus Speed*ResistenceFromLightBeingSlowedByAnotherMatter*DistenceTheLightHaveToGoTrough ThatMatterInsteadOfTheOtherOne
zanias Wrote:Light bends, even in a vacuum, due to gravity, as well as a physical substance such as glass or water.

Vacuum is the abscence of matter thus the abscence of gravity.

BTW when people talk about "vacuum in space" its not really vacuum.
Vacuum is a paradigm like infinity.

constants do move if the by wich they are bind do move. The darkness inside of a box move when u move the box. Darkness doesnt have speed but you can move it.
