Exp while vending

Since merchants are doing their jobs while vending, how about receiving a little exp while vending?

While I like games where exp is representative of what you do.. getting exp from vending would be too abusable, sorry.

how would it be abusable if the exp gain was not nominal enough to even be worthwhile? for example the OC/DC experience system that was in place at one point. that experience was relatively poor in comparison to actually going out and killing the enemies for the items you OC/DC'd. if you gain 1/1000th the amount of exp based on the value of the item vended, it still wouldn't be worthwhile. it would help in the earlier stages of leveling up, but you would literally have to vend almost indefinitely just to make it remotely worthwhile, and in most cases these vendors are alt characters/pack mules for the main characters, so what would be the point in wasting time leveling up an alt just by selling crap with it?

You're not wasting time selling junk on it, because you can be logged out

Not to mention the merchant could just plop a jellopy for 999,999,999 in their shop and sit there until they feel like logging him out, it's still way less tedious then grinding because you're not at the computer.

lol an idea like this was made by one of the iRO people

the idea was, you get exp based on your certain job

aco's got exp for using heal
merchants for buying/selling items
thieves for using steal
swordies for using bash

and etc etc (as you can imagen it was rejected)

I remember years ago, some private server had bexp given when you healed someone. It wasn't anything haxed, just a little exp, like 300 when you're 95+ for example.

@topic And yeah, vending exp would be really exploited by a lot of people.
