Emergency Changelog
- Green Whistle will reduce cost of all skills by 5%, plus another 1% for every 2 refine levels, instead of applying it only for solo songs until further notice
- Stem Whip will reduce cost of all skills by 5%, plus another 1% for every 2 refine levels, instead of applying it only for solo dances until further notice
- All pets that provide SP cost reduction, will temporarily have their pet bonuses disabled until further notice

Bugfixes


Bombardier set bonuses should be functioning as intended
  • The additional 25% stun resistance should be granted at lv 99, without equipping a grenade launcher
  • Equipping a grenade launcher should properly give 35 ATK instead of 25 ATK

In addition, the drop rate of all cards in Old Card Album are now set to be identical. In official Old Card Album, certain cards (often bad cards) are set to have a higher drop rate. This has been changed so that every card has the same drop rate of 0.17%.


Damp Card Album Changes

Damp Card Album has been completely revamped. Its card list is now IDENTICAL to Old Card Album, with the exception that the drop rate of any Hatter card is 5 times more often. This makes it so any single non-hatter card only has a drop rate of 0.09%, while hatter cards each have a drop rate of 0.43% instead.

In the past, there are mathematical cases where the average outcome of the DCA makes it "better" than an OCA, even if it is no as exciting since it doesn't have the rare chase cards. With this change, this makes DCA be objectively "worse" than OCA unless you are purposely looking for a hatter card.

The drop rate of items in OPB are higher if the new items are in both OBB and OPB.

Removed a lot of random etc item so the pool of bad stuff is smaller. The chance to get "equipment of some sort" is now much higher (though no guarantee that said equipment is any good.)



OBB and OPB have not had any gears added to them since Nameless Island update which is many years ago. In the future, we'll slowly add more of the modern gears to OBB and OPB, so they are a bit more exciting like they once were.

Malangdo Costumer

New Costume Neko Mimi Kafra and Costume White Baby Cat Ears are available at the Malangdo Costumer, but they require quite a bit of the lower tier coins to get! If you don't have enough, be sure to do some Malangdo Culvert instance to collect some coins!

Game Mechanics Change
  • Whip weapons have identical size modifiers as Musical Instruments, using size modifiers of 75/100/75 for small/medium/large targets respectively (this custom change was undone some how during host change)
  • Star Gladiator now requires the same amount of exp as Soul Linker to level, instead of its extremely slowed leveling speed in official servers
  • Lif's Mental Strength cooldown nerfed from 3s to 25s (official is 300s, so this is still a huge buff compare to vanilla pre-re RO). This will weaken Lif's strength if Lif dies frequently as it cannot recast Mental Strength immediately upon resurrection, but it will have no effect on Lif with some staying power or regular Lif farming. This should only weaken the case of doing Lif-Wave Tactics to continuously spam resurrection on Lif to keep her fighting against things that kill her very quickly.

Item Rebalance
  • Joker pet should provide a bonus to steal at the proper rate of 5% (up from 0.1%), but down from described rate of 10%
  • Aumdura's Grace no longer provides any MDEF (down from 1 MDEF)

Quality of Life Improvement
  • A new maintenance mode is introduced such that healer and warper are disabled during a maintenance
  • Royal Gold Bullions can be purchased via the new shop interface so that it is faster to purchase them in bulk. You will need to buy Royal Gold Bullion using a character with Discount to obtain it at 500k npc price.


Bugfixes
  • Soul Link should not be removed by logout, Dispel or Clearance any more
  • Tumbling should not be removed by Dispel or Clearance any more
  • Ghost and Dark elemental warm wind should not be removed by Dispel or Clearance any more
  • "Ka-" spells should not be removed by Dispel or Clearance any more
  • Star Gladiator's Heat skills should not be removed by Dispel or Clearance any more
  • Star Gladiator's Comfort skills should not be removed by Dispel or Clearance any more
  • Star Gladiator's Knowledge of the Sun, Moon and Stars should not be removed by Dispel or Clearance any more
  • Activation rate of combo skills due to Friend of the Sun, Moon and Stars from an ally Star Gladiator should not be removed by enemy Dispel or Clearance any more

    (Note: We cannot fix the other elemental warm winds yet since they are tied to other skills that should be dispelable.)
  • Fixed an issue with Lif's Emergency Avoid having the wrong skill cooldown at lower than max level
  • Silbertiger card effect should now persist on death
  • All costumes in weapons tab should be moved to armor tab properly now



Item Description Changes

All item that mentions the increase of damage now specifies if it is Physical or Magical. There are too many items impacted by this change. Please report any items that mentions increase in damage, but did not specify its damage type.

All items that has "increase resistance against x enemies" have been reworded to the standard "Reduce damage from x enemies".

All items that mentions a chance of causing status effects on the target when the user inflicts damage have their required damage type specified. There are too many items impacted by this change. Please report any items that mentions inflicting status effects, but did not specify the required damage type to trigger the infliction of said status effects.

All items that mentions an increase to ranged damage now clarifies that this is for ranged physical attacks only. This does not apply to Blitz Beat, Falcon Assault, Acid Demonstration or any spells, even though Noxious and ranged damage reductions apply against the damage of these skills.

Piercing effects standardized to use DEF or MDEF to refer to physical defense or magic defense. There are too many items impacted by this change. Please report any items that mentions piercing effects, but did not use this new convention.

Please note that there are skills that do not use cards that boost damage and the items will not specify these exceptions, such as Cart Termination, a part of Soul Breaker, and Grand Cross. Furthermore, there are some attacks that are neither physical or magical, such as Falcon Assault, Claymore Trap and Acid Demonstration (even though some of these effects are negated by Pneuma) so please keep that in mind.

Please note that there are skills that specifically cannot inflict bonus status effects, unless the item effect specifically mentions that it is adding a status effect on a particular attack (once again, such as Cart Termination.) Items will not specify these exceptions to the rule, so please keep that in mind.

Other item clarifications
  • Ice Pick has been clarified that its unique effect does not work with magic damage.
  • Exorciser has been clarified that its unique effect does not work with magic damage.
  • Memory of Thanatos card has been clarified that its unique effect does not work with magic damage.
  • Agent Katar has been clarified that its unique effect does not work with magic damage.
  • Chakram has been clarified that it boosts the damage of Meteor Assault, not boost all damage after using Meteor Assault.
  • Sabbath has been clarified that it only works on physical DEF
  • Doom Slayer now properly mentions that the stun effect is on attack, not on defense. Furthermore, only physical attacks can break the target's armor
  • Brave Insane Battle Axe has its effect clarified that the armor break always work once its special effect activated, and that broken armor is not "restored" after 3 seconds.
  • Giant Axe clarifies that its damage boost only applies to Cart Termination, and not boost the damage of everything after using Cart Termination.
  • Long Horn's flavor text has been fixed such that it is identified as a spear, not a sword.
  • Assaulter Spear has been clarified that it pierces the physical DEF of demi-human enemies by 20%, not reduce the damage of demi-human enemies by 20%
  • Slash clarifies that its coma effect is on Undead race, not Undead
    element (such as Anubis)
  • Quadrille clarifies that its bonus damage is on Undead race, not Undead element
  • Brave Battlefield Morning Star has its effect clarified that it does not stun its target for any guaranteed length of time
  • Added a clarification that magic damage, such as Storm Gust, cannot cause Coma through Ledger of Death. Furthermore, the item explains the condition to trigger the Wide Curse effect.
  • Platinum Shield has its effect clarified that it applies to Undead race, not Undead element for its effect
  • Strong Shield has its effect clarified that it increases damage taken from all property attacks
  • Shield of Naga has its effect clarified that refine rate increases the amount of damage reflected, not the rate at which reflect can take place
  • Purifier has its effect clarified that it only works against physical or magic damage, so it does not activate against skills which are part of neither (such as Acid Demonstration, Gloria Domini/Pressure or Falcon Assault)
  • Purifier has its level requirement in its item description
  • Bow Thimble has its effect clarified that it works for all long range physical attacks
  • Black Cat clarifies that it looks at your right handed weapon for its effect
  • Waterdrop Brooch clarifies that it doesn't reduce damage dealt to water property attacks by 5%, but reduce damage from water property attacks by 5%
  • Elder card clarified that it works against BG guardians as well
  • Alligator card has the "physical" descriptor removed, since it does work on most non-physical attacks
  • High Priest MVP card now specifies that it only triggers against physical weapon damage or magic damage
  • Sniper MVP card and Hunter Fly card now specifies that they only work on physical damage dealt
  • Costume Pteros Fin has its descriptions fixed
  • Bandit Hat has its slot displayed again (it should be slotted)

  • Fixed an issue with moonlight ring, bandit hat and joker pet giving too high steal success rate than intended
  • Fixed an issue where Mastersnowring card is a garment card instead of headgear card

16th Anniversary Quest

Pandelina is back! She has several items to sell including Backpacks, past Birthday/Halloween gears and more. She's gathering zeny for a good cause, talk to her in central Prontera to find out more!

Low on zeny? She offers the option to quest (once per account) for this year's new gear: a Drops Muffler.

If Pandelina gathers enough zeny for her cause, all the heroes will benefit with special rewards.

16 Milestones for heRO's 16th Anniversary:
Rewards will apply until November 8th
  • 100M Party exp rate increased by 10% (from 80% to 90%!)
  • 200M Thanatos Tower Party Requirement bypass
  • 300M Double spawns at Neko Island & Nekoring double exp and drops

Hero's Journey

By popular demand, Hero's Journey has returned and is now a permanent addition to the server. Compare to 2020, there are extra steps added so the quest is more expansive.

Lutia Mine Expansion


Lutia Mine has been expanded to have 2 floors, and the spawn table for the mine has been changed.

PVP Changes

By popular demand, the PVP Map and GVG Map has been restored to the old versions where the maps are rectangular with very little gimmicks and wide open areas for battle.

Balance Changes

Warzone Map has been updated
  • Wild Emperium spawn point no longer have fences that may introduce blind spots for the monsters
  • Map has been dramatically improved: there are less random dead cells and walk-able cells should accurately reflect obstacles that are visible on the map
  • [[Clock Tower Manager]] vit decreased by 5
  • [[Kalpea Henki]] no longer drops Lutian Crystal, but its Stardust drop rate has increased to compensate
  • [[Chipmunk Card]] has its MATK portions increased. Default flat MATK increased from 10 to 20, while the str bonus MATK increased from 10 to 20

Automated Event Changes

Rewards for the Novice automated events have been lightly touched so that the events are more attractive by modern standards, and easier to achieve. There's more prizes for everyone!

  • To win 2 Bloody Branch, the number of Fabre Eggs required has decreased from 19 to 17
  • To win 1 Fabre Card, the number of Fabre Eggs required has decreased from 14 to 13

    Poring Smash
  • Defeating Masterpoporing or Mastermarin at the end of the game will reward [[Damp Card Album]] instead of Poring Card

Hero's Journey Changes
  • DCA that comes with hero advanced bp and costume rainbow poring hat for novice, gunslinger and ninja removed (so that extended classes don't get this extra DCA compare to trans classes)
  • DCA for people who did job change without job manager has been delayed to a later spot
  • DCA after helping Krys has been dealeyd to a later spot
  • The poring card that's given along side the asgard blessing becomes a DCA
  • The 4 heroic chests have been removed from before going to Glastheim, and delayed to a later spot
  • Old red box reward delayed from Glastheim instance
  • Quest always gives pandaring egg now, regardless of class
  • At level 90, you will get a DCA in addition to existing rewards
  • At level 99, you will get a DCA in addition to the poring parade
  • For maxed out trans characters, you will get the 4 heroic chests and the Old Red Box in addition to the existing 2 OCA

Overall, the prizes for the quest are roughly the same, but the order of the rewards have been swapped around or limited to trans characters only. We think that this is more fair to trans characters since it doesn't take very long for non-trans extended classes to level to 99 (only need to level from 80 to 99, and this is extremely easy for Ninjas) in comparison to the effort required for trans characters.
