    File Changes
  • The "/tip" command information has been updated to include helpful information to players both new to RO or new to heRO. Check it out and let us know if there's any information you think should be included.
  • Pressing the "Help" button on the Guild Creation menu now offers a translated and improved version of guild information.
  • Skill fail messages that previously mentioned the Ancilla item now indicate it failed due to a missing item.
  • Updated other minor server messages to be more descriptive.
  • Fixed a few incorrect descriptions.

    Visual Changes
  • Added, replaced and re-arranged several loading screens.

    Visual Changes
  • Added new loading screens from the most recent contest.
  • Added a new login screen from the most recent contest.
  • Rough Enriched Ore now has a new unique sprite.
  • Sakura Prontera is now Faeheim Prontera.
    Bug Fixes
  • Attempted another fix for the one-time crashes at Carandel, Tessera and other similar custom maps. Let us know via support ticket if the issue persists!
    Item Description Updates

    These don't involve any gameplay behavior or balance. These are fixes/changes only to the item description.

    General Description Updates
  • Clarified all mentions of "ATK + X%" to be "Increase damage on Boss and non-Boss monster by X%" if they increase damage against boss or non-boss monsters such that skills like Cart Termination will not benefit, while the remaining mentions of "ATK + X%" is an increase to the ATK stat (not shown in the status window) such that skills that rely on the raw ATK stat like Cart Termination will benefit
  • "Heal Power" has been reworded to explain what they do on the item to avoid confusion between "increase the effectiveness of healing skills casted" and "increase the effectiveness of incoming healing skills"
  • "Ignore Defense and Magic Defense" has been updated to say "Pierce the DEF/MDEF of..." to avoid misunderstanding that "ignore" may imply the complete bypass of the DEF/MDEF stat
  • Changed all mention of "Add a x% chance" to only "x% chance" to clarify that automatically cast chances do not stack unless specified otherwise
  • Critical Rate no longer mentions a % to avoid confusion that Critical rate bonuses is increasing your existing critical rate by a percentage. It is a flat increase via addition.
  • Effects that gain zeny upon monster kill now states that the effect does not stack.
  • Most equipment that vaguely reads "increase attack speed" now states how much attack speed they actually provide
  • If an item is a pet food for a cute pet, it is listed in the item description.
  • Many items no longer erroneously states that Star Gladiator and Soul Linker can use the item along side trans 2nd classes (Bradium Shield, Diabolous Manteau, Pinguicular Corsage, Sprint Mail, Chameleon Armor, Armor of Naga, Sprint Shoes, Ring of Flame Lord, Ring of Resonance, Angelic Ring, Sprint Ring, Linen Glove, Mandragora Cap)
  • More status effects should have their proper color coding in item descriptions
  • More skill effects should have their proper color coding in item descriptions
  • "Near Death" (below 25% of max HP) is now color coded and treated as a condition
  • General grammar fixes on a lot of items, especially Battleground items
    Item Specific Description Updates
  • Owl Duke card properly states that Impositio Manus is cast when attacking, not when attacked
  • Owl Baron card properly states that Lex Aeterna is cast when attacking, not when attacked
  • Musicpular card properly displays its accurate rate, and that it doesn't trigger both spells at the same time (the two spells can be cast independently)
  • Besmal and Fafnir card properly shows their buffed effect
  • Masamune now properly states that its ASPD bonus is 2 points of ASPD status, not 2% aspd boost
  • Brocca properly lists that its pierce effect only applies to non-boss monsters (this is not a nerf, it has always been this way)
  • Green Applering properly lists its critical rate bonus to be against plant, not dragons (It is Golem Incarnation that is the garment card with critical bonus against dragons)
  • Hurricane's Fury now clarifies its refine per level mechanic and properly mentions Pulse Strike
  • Ixion Wings now mention its effect with arrow repel
  • Staff of Piercing clarifies that each refine level grants another % of mdef pierce
  • Memory Book[1] properly mentions that it combos with Monocle not Eye Patch
  • Heart Breaker clarifies that each refine level grants Critical Rate + 1
  • Encyclopedia clarifies its bonus critical rate is dependent on your base Luck
  • Sharp Arrow clarifies its bonus Critical Rate to be 20
  • Fixed an item description error where Berserk Guitar's ASPD is set to 100 instead of 190
  • Rewrote the entire Bass Guitar as the original's entire effect is wrong.
  • Electric Eel now properly states that it has 2 separate chances to cast either Jupitel Thunder, or Arrow Vulcan, not both at the same time.
  • Clarified the increase in SP cost effect of Staff of Destruction
  • Bradium Shield no longer states that Star Gladiator and Soul Linker can use it
  • Yin Yang earrings now mention its boost to magical attacks accurately
  • Glorious Jamadhar now properly states that it is a critical rate + 5, not crit damage + 5% against demihuman enemies
  • Glorious Cleaver description about critical wound effects are clarified
  • Glorious Fist now properly explains that Asura Strike's instant cast is not conditional when the weapon is sufficiently refined
  • Glorious Two-Handed Axe no longer mentions a ASPD +10% that never existed
  • Glorious Destruction Staff clarifies that you do not need to cast Level 10 version of Meteor Storm, Storm Gust or Lord of Vermillion to trigger Safety Wall. Any level of those spells will work.
  • Glorious Spear now properly mentions a 10% (not 5%) ASPD boost for the +6 refine effect, and no longer mentions the 5% ASPD for +9 refine that never existed
  • Glorious Gladius's Wide Bleeding effect now properly states that it's triggered by Raid, not Back Stab.
  • Glorious Shotgun now mentions Spread Attack properly instead of Crowd Shot (which is not even an alternative name of any skill in the game)
  • Glorious Lance no longer mentions a ASPD +5% bonus that never existed
  • Glorious Rapier no longer mentions a Int + 6 bonus that never existed
  • Soldier Revolver now properly states that it gives ASPD 100% instead of attack power 100%
  • Valorous BG items now properly states that it pierces defense, not add defense against Demi-Human enemies
  • Valorous Assassin's Damascus now properly states that its ice pick effect only works on non-Boss monsters
  • Wasteland's Outlaw properly explains its base Agi dependent mechanics
  • Strigoi Shadow's name has been fixed, and now has an item description
  • Tuna's weapon level now correctly lists that it is a level 2 weapon
  • Regenerative Potion now clarifies that it works for incoming Heal, Sanctuary and Potion Pitcher used on your character, not the ones casted by you
  • Kiel MVP's etc item watch Pocket Watch is now renamed to Silver Watch to avoid confusion with the Pocket Watch accessory
  • Warrior's Will, Regrettable Tears, Blood Thirst and Ghost Chill now indicate that they can be traded for items

If there are any items that have not updated to the new item description standards, please let us know so we can update it in a future patch.

    Bug Fixes
  • heRO.grf should now be properly read by the game.
  • Kaldheim Indoors (kald_in) should no longer cause crashes.
  • The Magmaring mob should no longer cause crashes.
  • Lutia Field 13's "Void Syndrome" (Black squares on the edges of the screen) has been fixed.
  • A bug where some Faeheim NPCs looked like mobs should now be fixed

    File Changes
  • Added several event maps for use with The Hero's Journey quest and the Halloween Quest.
  • Added a new October V4P costume, and 4 new quest headgears.

    Sprite Changes
  • Added some new NPC sprites, one of which will be used in The Hero's Journey quest.
  • The Grass Mutant sprite has been updated. Go pay the little beastie a visit!

    Visual Changes
  • Prontera's look has changed to Fall Prontera. Trivia: It is now one of the first maps in heRO to use custom background sound effects.
  • The Snow Harpy and Grass Mutant card arts have been updated!
  • Two new loading screens have been added.
  • A new Lv 99 aura was added to replace the decade old one. In the future we will try changing the aura seasonally, for players that use the default aura at least.

    Item Description Updates
  • Runestones now mention its trading aspect to be specific to heRO so that it doesn't sound like fluff flavor text.
  • Black Cat now mentions its combo with Black Wing.
  • Rogue's Treasure now mentions its combo effects properly (no effect changes).
  • Items that combo with Rogue's Treasure now properly identify them as Rogue's Treasure instead of Thief's Ring.
  • Gust Bow now properly mentions that its Wind Blade effect only works with the Arrow of Wind combo.
  • Gust Bow now properly mentions that its Wind Blade cast is on attack, not when attacked.
  • Burning Bow, Freezing Bow, Gust Bow and Earth Bow mention their combo properly (no effect changes).
  • Equipment that automatically casts Blitz Beat now specifies that their effect stacks, unlike other items that do not stack the chance to autocast the same skills.
