XD and it's also a pain since you can't really do much with a permanovi main in ways of hunting and zeny-making, especially without the +10 from the novi wings.

I'd say something based on what you want to do.
Personally, I'd recommend the Bard/Dancer set, as it's an Archer base (so basic leveling is inexpensive due to lack of need for pot), and parties love them for the skill spam and reduced SP costs. Dancers are less in demand though, so yeah.
Priests are another good one, as they're also wanted everywhere in parties, and they're actually easier to level up to the right range with their easy soloing of Anubis.

Whatever you pick, make sure it's something you're willing to play a lot, as life is a lot easier if you focus on one char at least until it's 9x pretrans.

If you're a good mage player Wiz or Sage is definitely a good class to go for. You'll be soloing a lot more on Sage than you would Wiz, but both as trans are given a lot of opportunities for high end play also.

If you're just looking to make some quick zeny with a character a Ninja or Soul Linker also is very awesome for that. Rogue will work too if you are wanting to trans later down the road.
