The Novice Trials, July 18th 22:00

Annoyed that you missed out on our last RP event arc and cannot get any ToH vouchers since there are no Trial of Heroes since last April? Annoyed that you got no chance to get better gears because you are new to the server and can't race veterans on MvP kills even though you think you are the more skilled players?

Join us in a the Novice Trials where for this month, neither level, stats or equipment matter! Create a brand new level 1 novice at July 18th, 22:00 server time to meet at the Training Ground's first map, and earn points to ToH Vouchers and rewards in variety of skill based novice games. Only your knife and cotton shirt will be allowed. GM will be at the novice spawn point to invite you to the event.

No light/dark allegiance points are required to join this event.

Voice chat will be available in discord, but it is only for fun to listen in to the chaos. Voice chat does NOT help or benefit you in any way, shape, or form.

Trial of the Blossoms (75 points maximum)

Survive and navigate through 5 different Flower Mazes of increasing length/difficulty. Participating novices need to reach from one end of the dangerous path to the other end. Series of immovable monsters block the way. Be precise in your movement, and see through all the traps to reach the other end. Excessive stalling will result in GMs spawning monsters to force novices to move on quickly or face death.

Do not respawn if you die. Your corpse location is what is used to calculate your points. If you respawn, it will count as 0 points for the run.

2 trial runs on the easiest path will be given for everyone, and an additional trial run will be given for the first encounter with the Photon Cannon. These trial runs do not reward points, but it's for you to know what the Flower Maze game is about, and for you to get familiar with the monsters involved. Note that unlike normal hosted Flower Mazes, there is no team component nor is there a party wide recall-revive at any checkpoints.

For the first 4 trials:
Reaching 1st checkpoint of each maze is worth 5 points.
Reaching 2nd checkpoint of each maze is worth 10 points.
Reaching the goal of each maze is worth 15 points.

For the last trial:
Reaching the 1st checkpoint is worth 10 points.
Reaching the goal is worth 15 points.
There are only 2 checkpoints in this trial.

The 5 mazes total will give a maximum of 75 points.

Trial of the Dead (50 points maximum)

Survive and run to the end of the path, similar to previous trial. Participating novices need to reach from one end of a straightforward path to the other end. However, the path is infested with Zombies, Poporings and even Ghouls or other deadly creatures. Use your luring techniques or even take advantage of other participants to try to survive until the end.

The first run will have only zombies of limited amount. Each repeated run will have increasing amount of zombies, and other monsters.

1 trial run on the lowest difficulty will be given for everyone to learn the basics of the game, then the trial will begin.

These trial runs do not reward points, but it's for you to know what the Zombie Run game is about. Notice that unlike Zombie Runs from an Event Bag, no healing items are provided.

Do not respawn if you die. Your corpse location is what is used to calculate your points. If you respawn, it will count as 0 points for the run.

Dying pass the half point gives 5 points.
Dying at/pass the goal post gives 10 points.
The 5 runs will give a total of 50 points.

Revenge of the Novices (possible 20 bonus point)

In the last event, Novices must band together to take their revenge on the monsters that drove them to despair in the previous trials. In a small arena, novices must some how defeat all monsters while staying alive. Novices have no equipment, do not have the HIT to strike back, and the monsters have a massive HP pool. How will the novices overcome impossible odds?

There will be 2 rounds of this event, and this is a co-op game where everyone work together (to certain extent). In each round, work together to kill all monsters on the map. If the novices survive, then those who are still alive at the end will be given 10 points. Those who were sacrificed in the process... you will be remembered.

There is a total of 20 possible bonus points, making the entire event have a maximum of 145 points.

Prizes

As you see, short of perhaps LUK granted perfect dodge, there is almost no RNG element to this month's Trial of Heroes. It will be all up to your skill in maneuvers, and how merciful your ISP is to you.

At the end, GM will trade you prizes based on your points.

Update: changed format of the last trial for Trial of the Blossom due to how it turned out.

Clarified that you are allowed the cotton shirt and the knife, but that's it.
