It's someone that's browsing the site via a google "sneak peek" kind've thing

It'll show a bit of the page or what have you, from the google results page I think.

Yahoo has one called "Yahoo Spider" too

Googlebot also goes through web pages looking at the content and the words featured there as well as the trafic in that area. The google bot is there so you can type in "heRO server ban list" into google and get the direct link to that page that the bot was on during that time.

The bot is there to help us google things better on the internet, because quite frankly there's way too much internet out there for a normal person to do all of the categorizing and coding for google.
