Mining is one of heRO custom features. It allows the gathering of gems, stones and other items on some specific locations (Mining spots).

Location

Mining is done in the coal mines. You can get there by using the Kafra at Al de Baran or Geffen for 1,700 zeny (they call it Mjolnir Dead Pit).

Quest

To Start mining you need to do a quest for the old miner in front of the entrance of the coal mines, who will ask you for the following items:
Quest Guy
  • 5 Meat (Wootan Fighter, Wolfs, Hydra, etc. Also can be bought at Butcher NPCs. Locations here.)
  • 2 Piece Of Cake (Baba Yaga, Myst Case)
  • 2 Apple juice (Mastering, Juice Making Quest)
  • 2 Lanterns (Skeleton Worker, Pitman)

After giving him the items, he will explain how to mine and start selling picks which can be used to mine. You can either buy 20 for 15000z or you can just buy 1 for 1000z. Obviously, buying 20 is more economical.

Mining Spot

Mining spot location

The mining spot is located in the third level of the coal mine in the lower Eastern corner. Hover your cursor in the huge rock in the middle of the lower east corner of the map and you should be able to find it.

Requirements:

  • Base level 70
  • 50 Mining Points

The spot is in the second level of the Einbroch Mine Dungeon in the middle down the cliff. Hover your cursor down the cliff and you should be able to find it.

Where To Mine

Mining Points

As you mine, you can earn mining points. The more points you have, the better chance you have to get good items, and the less often your picks will break. When you've earned enough of these, you can start mining at the advanced spot.

The maximum points you can earn is 100.

Mini Game

Mining Mini Game

There is a low chance that, instead of getting an item, you can be teleported into a special room for the mining mini game. Here, you have 2 minutes to kill easy monsters, giving good drops and experience. The following waves of monsters appear after the previous wave has been defeated:

  • 4 Blockring
  • 3 Bronzering
  • 2 Silverring
  • 1 Goldring

Mining Hat

Rough Orichalum collected in the Advanced Mining Spot can be purified into Orichalum at a 80% chance with the help the old miner in front of the Coal Mines (where you first started the Mining Quest.) With 10 Orichalum you can assemble the Mining Hat. Like the Fish Head for Fishing, this hat can boost your chance of better item drops for mining.
