Chronicle of the Heroes

The "Chronicle of the Heroes" is the main story line that the heRO server follows for it's story related events in the server. From the story's point of view, the "Chronicle of the Heroes" is a detailed record of all events from the beginning of history, written by the historian Auron (named after the former story manager GM). The record starts from the rise of the gods and goddesses for both the Order of the Light Allegiance and Legion of the Dark Allegiance, up to the present day and all that had happened to the Heroes of the world.

Dreamstone

Mysterious violet ore found mainly in the Faeheim Archipelago, Manuk, and the Lutie Region. It is somehow able to absorb and store energy, but it has other, more mystical uses. The fairies would long ago, use a magic crown studded with a refined form of the ore to enter people's dreams and memories. They would help their own with insomnia and post traumatic disorders, or extract vital war information from their enemies and cause terror.

Due to the amount of crimes committed with these stones, they were outlawed and destroyed long ago. Only Queen Pixie and her sister Lucretia know how use the refined ore to enter someone's mind.

First Appearance: Chronicles of Fairyland - On The Attack

Fragment of Ymir's Heart

An artifact of great power. Much of it still remains a mystery. The fragment cannot be touched with bare hands, for the energy radiating from it is lethal. It has also been reported to mutate living beings and induce hostility.

It is responsible for keeping the city of Yuno afloat, and for the power of the human experiments in the Somatology Laboratory beneath Lighthalzen. There's also fragments at Rachel's Holy Grounds.

Golemancer

A mage with the ability to turn clay and metal into shaped creatures that do the bidding of its creator. The “Cloaked Schemer” Kushiel is one of these people.

The Great Library

A building in the city of Kaldheim in the Lutia region, that houses one of the largest, if not the largest collections of books in all of Midgard. Every so often, new books are added to the collection. Old historical records, novels, essays, anything one can think of.

Moonlight's Bell Replica

A replica of the bell the creature known as Moonlight Flower carries. Like the original, when rang, it summons various undead creatures and spirits. But it also holds a terrible curse. Ciar endured this curse for several months, but ultimately snapped, attacking the Prontera Church when they were unable to help. In the end, an assassin cross known as Reilinn managed to destroy the bell and break the curse.

First Appearance: Chronicles of Fairyland - The Offering of Peace

The Dark Allegiance Council

The council that decides of all that happens within the Dark allegiance's ranks.

Originally, the dark allegiance was lead under Sir Melot, but after several power grabs, and the rebellion of Eudoxie, a council was formed to maintain order. The Dark Allegiance Council is composed of five members:

  • Sir Melot - The Head of the group. He's the face of the five, and the leader of the whole allegiance for the most part.
  • Lord Matthew - Usually trusted with the "heavy lifting", such as leading troops.
  • Ciar Speir - The more level-headed and lenient of the five. He's the head scientist of the research division.
  • Rajnish - Strategist, and more aligned with the original views of the allegiance than the rest of the group.
  • Tiamat - In charge of recruiting. She keeps everything from falling apart when things get out of hand. Was a member of the council until the final event of The Seer's Dilemma storyline, in which she abandoned the allegiance.

First Appearance: ???

The Light Allegiance Council

The council that decides all that is done within the Light Allegiance.

Originally, the light allegiance was lead solely by Lady Thea, but after complaints of some members of her less proactive behavior, a council was established. Like the Dark Allegiance's Council, it is composed of five members:

  • Lady Thea - The public face of the group. Has been avoiding conflict with the Dark Allegiance since just after the resurrection of Satan Morroc.
  • Nereus - More "proactive" than the rest. He's not afraid of speaking his mind or getting in trouble, be it with the light or dark allegiance.
  • Archelaus - Usually sides with Thea in discussions. Unlike Nereus, he is willing to work together with the dark side when they both share the same goals.
  • Maristella - In charge of recruiting and rallying the masses. She strongly dislikes the dark side, especially Lord Matthew.
  • Zhi Xun - One of the richest and most powerful people in all of Midgard. He uses his influence on governments and private companies to persuade them to side with the Light Side, but he also seems seems to have goals of his own.

First Appearance: ???

Legion of the United

A faction led by the fae general Amdusias during the Fairyland Chronicles. He recruited humans to help him crush the wanted criminals inside the Wingless group.

The symbol of the Legion was a black hammer with a golden halo.

Summoning Bond

A spell used to control the actions of others. Often used on non-humans, as they are easier to control and don't resist as strongly. The Dark Conjurer Eudoxie controlled Skoll this way, until the bond was broken by St. Vitus and a group of heroes.

War of Agony

A 200 year war that began when the dark god, Erebos, created aggressive and deadly monsters to destroy humanity. Erebos almost succeeded in his plans, but Hestia, the goddess of light, would assist the humans with compassion. The battle came to an end when both gods clashed and caused the world to shake. Odin would descend on the field and lay a decree that stated the following:

"Enough, this war is over! This final attack showed me that neither side would prevail, since both of you will die from each other’s attack. Starting today no Gods shall ever interfere directly with this world. The Gods will no longer part with the divine knowledge to the humans, but neither will humans be purged for receiving the gift of knowledge from the Gods in the past. From now on, humans will walk their own path in this world."

Wingless

A faction led by the fae princess Lucretia and her friend Cynbel during the Fairyland Chronicles. They recruited humans to work with her to find the truth about Lucretia’s wings, and Amdusias’s true plans for Faeheim.

Their symbol was a black cross behind a broken, light-purple wing.

Fiend Mirror

A mirror that serves as a portal to the Demon Realm. Dark Lord and other fiends used it to reach Midgard in ages long past. After their defeat, the mirror was broken into four pieces and scattered to prevent it from being used again.

  • The Kingdom of Rune-Midgard kept the first piece. It was used to help channel the flow of magical energies in one of Morroc's Pyramids.
  • The second piece was kept by the priests of Arunafeltz.
  • The third piece was presumably kept by Schwartzvald, but the Dark Allegiance eventually obtained it. Mystra kept the piece hidden within her castle in Niflheim until Amdusias of Faeheim found it while raiding the castle in search for Lucretia.
  • The fourth piece was kept in Lutia, beneath Kaldheim's Library.

Demon Realm

Described as a once thriving land, "conflicts between nations" and "blind overuse of magic and technology" left it "weak". It connected to Midgard via the Fiend Mirror.

Upon defeating Dark Lord's liberated form, Beelzebub pulled Selene, Tiamat, Lord Matthew and other heroes through the Fiend Mirror, hoping to fight and destroy them in his own world where he is stronger. Though the heroes were weakened by previous battles, they bravely fought against Beelzebub. But they were no match for his powers. When all seemed lost, a bright burst of magic lit up the battlefield, warping everyone, including Beelzebub, away from the demon realm. At an unknown location amidst the stars, they battled and defeated Beelzebub in his true form. The group was warped back to the Demon Realm, where they were able to use the Fiend Mirror to return to Midgard.
