Hi guys,

I know it's not RO related, but I don't know who to turn to. My girl's laptop is having serious issues:

-no more access to internet (when trying to establish a connection, we get "connection failure")
-the drivers of the card are gone
- the computer doesn't recognize any new plug-in (tough it still work with the ones already plugged in)
- a hell lot of "no responding"/slow processing

We don't know what to do.

P.S.
We would be ok to salvage only a few files from it and lose the computer (sensitive stuff is on it)

I'd say to format it after copying the important files to another HD or a pendrive/dvd/blu-ray.

Make sure you scan the files you take off by a good Anti-Virus.

We began formating the HD.

As a side-note, how long can formating take?
If the procedure cannot complete itself, is there something we can do?

Buy a new laptop?
