I think I was actually told not to waste my Hydras in an Infiltrator. YES it is the ultimate killing weapon for Sins but, some katars are just better.
Like with other weapons, a +10 [4] slotted generic Katar is better for grinding depending on what you are fighting. Sometimes the elemental Katars are better.
Say you are in hillwinds: Katar of Quaking [3] with Mandragora Cards in it really hurt Hillwinds. Some would argue that you are wasting both the Cards and the Katar doing this because there are much better cards to use.
Bow wise, Orc Archer Bow or +10 Composite Bow [4] for generic hunting.
Katar wise, its smart to always carry more than one on you. Try to keep one of the basic elements on you, Fire and Water being the two easiest to get, the Earth if you manage to find it, and keep two of the non-elemental ones. In my case I carry my +6 Triple Hallowed Jur and my Slicing Katar. I plan on changing them when I can find something else.
IF you do manage yo get your hands on either Infiltrator OR Inverse Scale, you sir are incredibly lucky/wealthy.

Infiltrator[Skeleton Worker] for size multiplier.
Orc Archer Bow for all around mobbing, when you can't use element weakness effectively.
If you CAN get ele weakness, grab the ele bows (Burning, Earthen, Gale, Freezing) and stick the appropriate element damage card (Mandragora, Vadon, Drainliar, Kaho) in it. Alternatively, use your OAB with an Endow.
