I'm having a problem with playing on Windows 8 BUT this is not the 'minimized window problem'.

I can open and play the game just fine but I can't get it to fullscreen. Currently the resolution is set to almost fullscreen but not quite, but that's fine with me. The major problem is that I can't use my hotkey skills without having to press the FN key. Or must I set the game on fullscreen so I can use the hotkeys?

Some new notebook models are coming with the function (Fn) keys activated by default. You can change that, but it depends on the notebook model.

Search google with something like: "how to enable fn keys by default" or "change fn key behavior".

An easier way is to change your skills keys in ro to not use those fn enabled keys. For example, I use keys z, x, c, v, b, ... because it's more comfortable for me

As kysp suggested, you can change the hotkeys in game, when in game press the Options button then pick Shortcut Configuration.
