Nod 32 FTW ^_^ I just scanned my RO and got no problem with it. Maybe AVG programmers are RO haters and want to mess with RO users.
seems I'm a day late

Quote:To all Ragnarok Players,

We would like to inform you that we are aware of the AVG anti-virus issues or conflicts with regards to the Ragnarok.exe files. We advise everyone not be alarmed, as the virus alert is merely just a false alarm.

We are already working with the developers of AVG to remedy this but as a temporary solution, we advise everyone to try the following measures:

* You can turn off your AVG anti-virus (reminder: you will be open to any virus once this is done) before patching Ragnarok.
* You can turn off your AVG anti-virus and replace it with another anti virus for now.
* If all Ragnarok.exe files are already in you virus vault, please uninstall your client then turn-off your AVG anti-virus.
* Reinstall Ragnarok client without AVG anti-virus.

Please check back for updates and further announcements.

Thank you very much.
I use have AVG as well and havn't encountered this error at all. Where did you all download your RO files from?

BTW Loki was that announcement from AVG?
it was from level up games

Clicky to see

note in the announcement that it says they are working with AVG developers. It's mostly just an AVG issue.

We all downloaded them from the same place you did, buddy No1

Seems it was a false positive in any case picked up by AVG's virus scan. My AVG updates itself every day, so it must have been included in last night's update, cause I was able to open heRO fine before my AVG updated.

Anyway, it seems inevitable for AVG users unless you rarely update or somehow set AVG to accept the files of heRO and not label them as viruses.

All-in-all, Loki pretty much already summed it up anyway with that letter, giving AVG users alternatives if and when they encounter this problem Ok
I shutdown my resident shield, then launch heRO, and then re-enable the resident shield. Icon_smile Works fine but it's still annoying.
Most people download from RMS. I didn't so that might be a reason I didn't get that error. But if it's from an actual RO and users who downloaded from there got the same error then there probably isn't anything to worry about.
bump, this is just a reminder to all players who use AVG in case you see this "virus".
ah I re-did the patcher and some how it worked again, avg didn't annoy me. but I hope AVG fixes that
