In case of any misunderstanding, the invitation is not only for nobles, everyone is invited provided they fit a few easy conditions which we will divulge tonight.

The event was a Masked Ball, condition to attend were only to be formally dressed (dress for ladies, tux for gents) and to wear some sort of mask or masquerade.
