RE: why is the server down? - Keefa - 11-25-2007 Probaby, we all know it's a problem related to the eA SVN. Which could be updated and hopefully it'd go away. RE: why is the server down? - Keefa - 11-25-2007 Ms. Pandora never did. I do. From my experience from RO private servers, it's either the eA stuff or hardware problem. I'm hoping it's the former instead of the latter. Edit: If someone wants something to do while waiting, get the SVN changelog and check for "crash" or "mapserver". Let's see how many we find. RE: why is the server down? - Namine - 11-25-2007 Namin? will prefer not to say "SvN" fault unless it is really proven by eA forums that the certain SvN is unstable. By that dangerous assumption, Namin? fears that Ms. Pandora can certainly say "well let's roll back to the previous SvN. That thing never crashed and it got connection of steel." And it is true: the old SvN has far less problems than the new one.More update does not automatically imply more stable, though it guarantees more content... stability is a potential update in a SvN, but certainly not promised in doing so~ EDIT: Odin, Thor and Homun are all part of the current SvN. It was manually divided into phases. *In theory* by updating to this SvN, Namin? can say that heRO server has all of those maps ready to go for the most part. Updating SvN will actually mean going to Nameless Island (or in the terms of the "other cutting-edge private servers" Episode 12, Satan Morroc.) RE: why is the server down? - Keefa - 11-25-2007 I know it's a dangerous assumption, the only assumption more dangerous would be to say it's hardware related. It's got to be either software or hardware. Updated indeed doesn't always mean more stable. Rolling back to an older SVN sounds good enough to me since I don't really care about the new stuff. Stability is what I'm interested in. Will Odin's temple come? How would I know? I'm not a GM, I'm just someone who rants just so he has something to do. |
