I suggest using the wiki for learning about our customs and whatnot.
Or go to Prontera and talk to the pink warper lady chick in the center and start a beginner quest with her. Finish the quest and talk to her again to start a second quest for a chance at a nice starter headgear. These quests are called Sisterly Affection I and II and each have completed guides on the wiki. Have fun.

Are you new to heRO, or to the game of RO completely?
If the former, then Aaronock's post is helpful.
If the latter, post so here, and I'll dig up a couple of useful (though perhaps a bit outdated in areas) guides.
