Quotes of the day - Kage - 06-24-2008

Every day, I randomly find something that should have never been said, or was so turned out of proportion, it's worth sharing with the world.

Newer television show, called Mobile Home Disaster, a reality tv show where they remodel and redo some random fool's mobile home, my quote for the day comes from that very television show.
Qoute:
"What? I have a deep seated need to mess with kids..."

Mind if I barge in?

I was doing a philosophy paper on linguistics, and came across this (unrelated to linguistics, obviously):

The smart way to keep people passive and obedient is to strictly limit the spectrum of acceptable opinion, but allow very lively debate within that spectrum - even encourage the more critical and dissident views. That gives people the sense that there's free thinking going on, while all the time the presuppositions of the system are being reinforced by the limits put on the range of the debate.

- Noam Chomsky

That is very true. That quote from Noam Chomsky. I'm quite intrigued by philosophy, and I'm sure everyone is since everyone tries to understand why they live. Though, I would never take a philosophy course as it would crush me horribly. On the otherhand I will throw some words as I always like to come up with some of my own quotes: inspiration acquired is inspiration given.

"Whoever said the pen is mightier than the sword has obviously never tried killing dragons with a Sharpie." ~ Me, circa 2002

There was a story behind that, but I don't quite remember it. Oh well. I'll probably pop in later with some of my favorite quotes, both serious and humorous, to share.

Pen =/= marker. Thus fail.
