Hit detection
I don't know exactly how to explain this but I'll see how it goes.
I've been on dozens and dozens of servers all ranging from low to mid rate. On some of these servers the hit detection is like it is here on heRO.
On other servers though, the hit detection is almost... like instant. So when the animation of a hit occurs, that's when the damage is calculated instead of like a second afterwards. I notice this the most when hunting something simple like a geographer. You walk up to one, you get, then you walk away... but according to the server, you're still right there on the geographer and it hits you again and you either die, or come very close to it.
I was told by one of the owners of a past server, that this is actually a serverside code, that can be changed and adjusted.
I don't know exactly what this code is, but it's something as simple as changing a single value.
So I was wondering if heRO can try and figure out how to make 'hit detection' more... real time, instead of delayed.

RE: Hit detection
that's also the whole point ellie, is that if you're just scraping through a fight, then are you really prepared to take on those enemies, or should you fight something a bit easier, and most obviously less experience, and wait a level or two before going back to where you were?
granted the exp gain is not as great, or as quick, but not being able to live decently through a battle, or mob, or whatever, but just barely making it, and sometimes dying would be a sure indication that you aren't fully prepared in taking on those enemies and should work toward that in either gear hunting, or level grinding.

You've never run out of healing items, or been over that 50% and not been able to regain HP/SP, or been mobbed and tried to escape and thought you did?
As was bought up here, Tengus from off screen, and Geos. I've had Hill Winds off screen hit me, too.
