Happy Chinese/Lunar New Year! The Spirit Animals of the Chinese Zodiac are in trouble, and their handlers, Liang and Fu, need your help! Complete the quest to earn the new "Yin Headress" (female) or "Yang Headdress" (male) and other rewards. The quest will be available all year, but there will be an Old Card Album awarded to any players who complete the quest by March 10, 2013.

NOTE (Updated 5/29/13): Although Fu says you need a Pellet for the Sheep NPC, this is not the case. If you talk to the Sheep with a Pellet on your character, it will not be consumed. Likewise, if you talk to the Sheep without a Pellet, you'll still make the Elixir.

Quest

1) In order to start the Quest you'll need to talk to Liang, who stands with his wife Fu north of the Louyang warp NPCs and Kafra. He asks for your help locating the Spirit Animals of the Chinese Zodiac. Agree to help and he will give you a list of animals to find.

2) Speak to Fu and she will tell you what items are required to create the restorative elixirs for each Spirit Animal. (See "Items Needed" table below for list.)

3) Gather the items needed for each animal’s elixir, then go find the animals to rejuvenate them so they can return to the spirit world. The animals may be visited in any order. Their locations are as follows:

  • Monkey - Amatsu Dungeon 2 - ama_dun02 (111, 56)
  • Dragon - Odin Temple 3 - odin_tem03 (273, 236)
  • Rat - Niflheim - niflheim (233, 270)
  • Rooster - Clock Tower 4 - c_tower4 (122, 35)
  • Tiger - Glast Heim Cave 1 - gl_dun01 (220, 151)
  • Rabbit - Fairy Dungeon - fairy_dun01 (26, 271)
  • Horse - Louyang Dungeon 3 - lou_dun03 (66, 50)
  • Sheep - Toy Factory 2 - xmas_dun02 (231, 233)
  • Dog - Biolabs 2 - lhz_dun02 (210, 214)
  • Boar - Hidden Dungeon 2 - prt_maze02 (158, 114)
  • Ox - Gonryun Dungeon 3 - gon_dun03 (126, 271)

4) Once you’ve given all 11 animals their elixirs, return to Liang and Fu in Louyang. Fu will ask you to find the Sacred Snake, this year’s animal guardian, and give you one last list of items for the Snake's elixir.

5) Gather the items needed and find the Snake to rejuvenate him.

6) Return to Liang and Fu in Louyang. Liang will thank you for your help and give you your rewards.
