heRO is a private server, but it's also a great project, and we do our best to make our server a fun and enjoyable place to be for everyone. We have a plethora of custom content, which we make sure is balanced, in order to make it our own special RO world along with many quality of life improvements.

Game Mode

heRO also has lot of custom monsters, including options for newer players (as low as level 20) so that there are new level spots beyond the usual Spores and Wolves. Typically, custom monsters have an Exp/HP ratio of 1.6 to 1.8. Tougher monsters or high end monsters can exceed to 2 Exp/HP or higher.

  • Some regular monsters have spawn delay changes as we believe that timegating should be kept to a minimum, and player should be able to play the game whenever they want. Please refer to this changelog post for details

Regarding Drop Rates

  • 5x Item Drop Rate

Although heRO operates at a 5x Item Drop Rate, heRO has lot of drop rate related changes to reduce frustrations or reduce the mindless repeated item grinds. heRO greatly increased rare equipment drop rate from regular monsters especially older equipment to be more reasonable by modern day standards. Most normal monsters drop their equipment at 0.5% if the monster is considered soloable without too much gears, or 0.75-1% for monsters that are more difficult. High end monsters or monsters in dungeons that require a party have a further multiplier for equipment drop rates so that on average, each player in a party will obey the drop rate listed above. For example, if a dungeon is expected to be done by a party of 3, monsters may have equipment drop at a rate of 1.5% to 5% such that factoring in party share, each player will see items in 0.5% to 1% drop rate again. This does not apply to monsters considered as miniboss of a dungeon, or any MVPs.

For some constant high demand small items such as White Herbs and Blue Herbs, heRO has chosen to scale up the drop rate of these items according to monster HP so that players are not stuck on low level spots that are usually chosen to farm these items. heRO wants to reward players who explore or go to more challenging locations, and the game should not be forcing you to return to older spots just to farm common items like herbs. These items may also drop in form of boxes so that killing some monsters may drop multiple of these highly in-demand items.

  • Crystal Mirror has a 20% decrease in sale price. All monsters who drop Crystal Mirror, with the exception of Mavka, has a boost of their Crystal Mirror drop rate by 20% or higher to compensate.

  • Max MDEF: 100 (same effect as Golden Thief Bug card if reached)
  • Max racial resistance: 85%
  • Max elemental resistance: unlimited (if it exceeds 100%, then attacks of that element will heal you)
  • Regular Vending Tax of 2.1%
  • Purchase Stalls (Buying Store) are available
  • No Multi-client allowed
  • Party share level: 15
  • Max Party Size: 18 players
  • Bonus of 80% Experience for each additional member in a share party

Chronicles of the Heroes

Our server's own storyline, watch as it unfolds with YOU as the characters!

  • Join the Light or Dark side by talking to the Allegiance NPC in Prontera
  • Earn Allegiance points (Light or Dark) by completing our custom quest or participating in special Light VS Dark events!
  • Get special hero equipment with your Allegiance points!

Custom NPCs

  • Healer (for a small fee), or you can use the Inns for healing that also comes with a 15 min HP regen buff (extended Small Life Potion) once every 30 minutes
  • Reset Master with adaptive prices
  • City and Dungeon Warper with unlockable warps on an account level (unlock once for all characters within the same account)
  • Costume Crafters to create over 500 Costumes
  • Class Costumes: Once you have transed, or is an extended class member, apply class costumes so that you can look like 3rd and 4th class versions!
  • Buying Store via Stall Permits for all characters at a low fee
  • Special DB room and DB seller
  • Stylist with over 200 custom palettes and hairstyles
  • PVP warper
  • Banker to transfer zeny between different players, including from one of your characters to another character on a different account
  • Plagiarism NPC to teach rogue their skill to copy instead of requiring a player to give you the skill
  • Crafter's Guild to reduce the need of a party in order to brew, forge or cook on your own
