@herman no, a mid-upper or lower-mid headgear gives only stats once. And what ayu means by that is you can select a mask or a upper gear from the custom ones that currently drop from monster, in case that wasn't clear, I added a link to the list of those gears we have.
Seems like even the link is incomplete afterall. I added the entire list of all possible dropped custom monster headgears in the package for clarification.
